Musée Bargoin, Clermont-Ferrand
(3.6/5 based on 30 reviews on the web)
Built in the early 20th century, Musée Bargoin has two different focuses: one devoted to archeology from prehistory to the Roman times and the other dedicated to the great diversity of rugs and textile arts. Since 2011, the museum has offered a new vision for its archaeological collections. The textile department allows you to discover clothing, rugs, furniture, religious objects, and weaving. The archaeology department invites you to explore the Bronze Age axes and the Trésor de Manson collection. • Finally, the archaeological collections resumed their places in the windows of the ground floor (with the exception of the ex-votos from the source of the rocks to the virtually insoluble conservation requirements). If only 4 rooms are dedicated, the number of exhibits is impressive. Beautiful Gallic vases dialogue with Mediterranean ceramics of the Campana collection and it is quite moving to find these objects accompanying Gallo-Roman predecessors in the life of every day... but also in death. I recommend a visit.
