  • This Canadian second world war cemetery is extremely well maintained... Flowers, lawn and treatment landscape like reverence and respect for the memory of these soldiers (including Gabriel FRADIN, vendean strain!) who gave their lives for our freedom! Respect!

  • The CWGC do a magnificent job in all the cemeteries and Bretteville is no exception to this. Nobody around the day we went which adds to the peaceful atmosphere for quiet reflection. Large parking are...  more »
  • This cemetery is very emotional, because it allows to take (a tiny bit) the dimension of the sacrifice of the Canadian people for our freedom. Access is easy from the fast lane, clearly signposted, just follow the signs. There is a large parking lot. The place is loaded with emotion, with all these perfectly aligned graves. The garden is well maintained. Here are based close to 3000 men, including a french soldier named Picard (it's the only different cross toward the back of the cemetery) in the memorial, a large plaque explains the progression of the armies after d-day. Take the time to stroll through the aisles, and complete your visit with the article very well done on Wikipedia

  • Great uncle is buried here. Very well kept.
  • Very well maintained, beautiful site, however it is in middle of nowhere so there are very few visitors, thus if you are nearby it is well worth a visit.
