4.3/5 based on 190+ reviews on the web
This charming castle, Chateau de Breteuil, is located in the Chevreuse valley and is a wonderful site to spend day exploring its historical treasures and blooming gardens. Built in the 17th century, the chateau has belonged to the Marquis de Breteuil since 1712. As you wander the halls and rooms, you can view classic pieces of furniture along with 50 waxworks from the Musée Grévin. Meanwhile, the 18th century decoration includes Gobelins tapestries, royal Swedish tableware, and paintings of French kings. The masterpiece of the chateau is the "table de Teschen", encrusted with 128 precious stones.

Outside Chateau de Breteuil, you will find a collection of French and English gardens and mazes, one of which created from 1,000 box plants. If you’re looking for a bit more history, check out the rooms exhibiting the Perrault tales, which reflect everyday life of the past. • Nice home in a beautiful setting. Visit Castle lasts about an hour and allows you to visit some beautiful rooms and discover the family history. The Park is well equipped and spiced up of place or are present of the animations on the subject of tales of Perrault.

  • The leave is beautiful and the visit to the castle is nice. But the entry price is really expensive, especially if you have no children, and so we don't enjoy outdoor games.

  • A very beautiful area very well maintained with playgrounds, picnic with a point restoration at reasonable prices. The price includes the guided tour of the Castle accessible to young children and not at all off-putting. Storytellers or Storytellers tell tales of Perrault, the children are delighted. A very nice day!

  • Way overpriced for just a walk on the garden while in a middle of a wedding prep. Avoid that Castle!
  • After an overpriced visit to the garden, small wiki search suggests that the castle is still owned by the family of Breteuil. Nice way to run the castle by public/touristic money!
  • The Castle and gardens are beautiful. The very friendly staff. The guided tour of the Castle very well. In small houses scattered in the forest of animations with characters from the counties of Perrault. (Cinderella, peau d ' âne, etc...) At 16 h 30 a storyteller animates the various tables of the counties. There is a very large playground for children and a large shady with tables for pic - spot picnic. We had a very good day. I recommend
