  • You can't miss the contemporary tasting room of Pierre & Bertrand Couly, well positioned just outside the medieval town of Chinon, famous for its red Cabernet Franc wines. We were welcomed by Madame C...  more »
  • Hello all, the visit of this operation is very interesting. Mr Couly has been our guide during this afternoon to visit. It starts in the vineyard. Simple explanations and provided, both on the way to work his farm at the level of combating the phytosanitary problems, how to work the land, and the micro-climate. I will not tell the truth you in those lines, you will discover by you even as you go. A demonstration of size, and test by some visitors. Then, the visit of the winery. Full explanation on how to develop the wine in large vats in stainless steel until bottling. Then, tasting of 5 wines from its production. Here also the explanations are simple and complete. He answered all the questions. Mr Couly is passionate. He knows make his work accessible using simple words. It is the sign that he shares his passion with his visitors, flee those who wanting to blow the mind use technical vocabulary, make fun of you and see only banknotes through you. Some purists will be disappointed not to see large vats (Wrath) in wood or barrels. It is the choice of Mr Couly, but you should also remember that our legislature my "standards" and more difficult to satisfy... no other comments constraints. The work in the vineyard is seasonal, do not hesitate to ask and make you to visit. To avoid frustration and organizational setbacks. Do not lose sight and it is normal, that the work will go before the rest. By reading the reviews below, I came across a notice that made me hair stand. A person unhappy not able to negotiate a discount greater than 10%. In France, you are not in the souk of Marrakech! -You have seen only a very small part of the work in the vineyard. -A bad year (hail, Frost, disease, etc.) is a year of lost, see two. -The price offered is not net margin or operating income, it's turnover. Then you have to pay various expenses, personnel, etc... -VAT is 20%, do not forget that here. It greatly increases the price. -I'm not sure in a supermarket you better prices compared to the quality. At the exit, you will pay the total price without discount! Some is the size of your truck! A little respect at least for work would be welcome. Thanks to Mr Couly Kléber

  • Very good wine. Also very good tour of the vineyard, and as a bonus an operation to high environmental value, something that should be developed.

  • Very good reception, very good wine (especially the white Chinon and the high olive), many explanations around the vineyard and winemaking with advice on the choice, the opportunity to taste the wine and a free tour of the winery, all free: I recommend without hesitation!
