The tenuous relationship between humans and nature finds balance at Le Refuge de l'Arche, where injured or ill wild animals are treated before being released back into the wild. Some animals stay for the remainder of their lives and can been seen from viewing terraces. The reconstructed habitats are spacious and do their best to emulate natural environments, so animals are well-prepared to reenter their wild homes. You’ll see a large variety of animals, from lions to cows. The refuge accepts most creatures: exotic pets, retired circus animals, aged farm animals, or injured wild birds. The only exceptions are cats and dogs. Put Le Refuge de l'Arche on your schedule, and learn what else deserves a visit by using our Chateau-Gontier road trip tool .

As the various birds and monkeys at the beginning of course! Small flats, on the Monkey Island, a lot of aggressiveness due probably to a possible overcrowding. Beautiful and new facilities, to the image of this refuge that deserves to continue for this great cause!
C'est un très joli refuge Animalier, qui reflète l'engagement pour la défense des animaux. N'hésitez pas à y contribuer en allant le visiter. more »It's a very nice animal refuge, which reflects the commitment for the defense of animals. Feel free to contribute by going to visit it.
Beau refuge pour animaux, présence d'animaux sauvages tels que des lions, des ours... beaucoup d'espèces de macaques dont une île où il y en a au moins une cinquantaine. Il y a une volière à l'entrée ... more »Beautiful animal shelter, wild animals such as lions, bears, many species of macaques which an island where there is at least fifty. There is an Aviary at the entrance where you can approach some birds that can't fly. There is a large pond with including free-range geese. The price is correct (12 euros per adult) seen the many treatments that the refuge is performed on some animals.
Better than going to a zoo, so many animals all here because they have been rescued for one reason or another.
Lovely setting. Some paths closed for renovations.
What a lovely place. Rescued animals on the road to recovery and a better life. Don't expect a zoo type place with animals putting on shows as this isn t that at all. One down side during our visit was the restaurant was closed for the week
Good for the afternoon. May become a full fledged zoo after the early 2017 renovation, already has a lot of species. This place specializes in welcoming abandoned animals, or exotic animals in need of a home after their circus / zoo has closed.
Brilliant place . Took kids last year . They loved it .Taking brother and his family this year .
