Visit to Chamonix and Word of mouth, we went to the House Payot, who owns two shops, one in 166 Street Vallot and the other to the 2355 St Paccard in Chamonix "Les Houches". We were able to discover all the regional products (sausages, hams, cheeses, jam, wine, liqueurs, beers and many other delights...). It is a family home. We fell for the Guingon sausage we had already tasted with friends. It is a sausage of campaign pure pork at base of ham, shoulder and fat of pork, smoked in high chimney. A treat. Do not proceed to Chamonix without making a stop!...

We have been tempted by this typical or atypical shop bringing together the local products. A welcome unprecedented despite the wait... we opted for cheese raclette (thanks for the tip) and cold cuts and the blush of the vendor argument has been: we lend you the raclette device free of the never seen! So thank you for your welcome, thanks for you product. We had a great time in your shop and a great time at the table. To recommend!

Huge disappointment: sausage so dry that it took finally soak "" a night to finally decide it (€28 / kg)! County 22 months Marcel Petite without any character (€36 / kg) neutral Alpine (€42 / kg) Beaufort very expensive and no gustatory pleasure. We frequent Chamonix for 30 years and the Refuge Payot has never been exceptional, but at this point... The pasture of the needles is much better and regular.
