Lac Blanc, Chamonix

(300+ reviews on the web)
Water Body
Lac Blanc is a glacial runoff lake with cold, pure waters that reflect the peaks in a mirrored pool. It's best known for its hiking, so wear your sturdiest shoes to get the most out of your visit. If you’re an adventurous hiker, you can start from the bottom of the mountain and make a stop at the charming "La Floria Cafe" for a drink. However, if you prefer an easier walk, take the cable car along with a picnic to the lake. Traverse the lake paths for the best vantage point to see the beauty of the “White Lake.” In the late afternoon, the lines for the cable car tend to be shorter. Make Lac Blanc a part of your Chamonix vacation plans using our Chamonix holiday planner.

  • for the less "trained" through the index, easy hiking and family many world period, for the bravest back through the col des montets via the Lake of the cheserys, ibex, chamois!

  • Walk up from the neck of Montets and find the majestic view of the Mont Blanc massif. One of the most beautiful hikes in the Valley.

  • Take the time to this wonderful ballad... Take the cable car to the Praz at the Flégère... Small climb for at least 90 minutes, the view is sublime, the entire chain of Mont Blanc is unfolding before your eyes... Arrived at the White Lake a lil back at the bar would be welcome... Do around the Lake, a lil selfie to make jealous... A lil detour to the Lakes of the Cheserys just below... return possible by Praz de Chamonix or Argentière.
