#2 of 262 in Winter Sports in France
Mountain · Ski Area
Brevent Cable Car offers 2,525 m (8,284 ft) views from Planpraz to the Le Brevent summit. The system was rebuilt four times, in four different decades: the 1920s, 1950s, the 1970s, and finally in 2008. Aboard you’ll join the company of fellow skiers and local residents who use the cable cars to commute between the slopes. However, you don't need to ski or live in the mountains to be stunned by the majesty of the peaks out the cable car window. With our international travel planner, Chamonix attractions like Brevent Cable Car can be center stage of your vacation plans, and you can find out about other attractions like it, unlike it, near it, and miles away.

  • Great views of the Mont Black ridge. Worth going up from Planprez all the way to Brevet. You can also walk it but its pretty steep. There are restaurants on both places. On Planorez there is a stunning suntan balcony. Must sit there soak the sun with a nice Chardonnay.
  • Easy to REACH, worth every minute. Great direct view to mont blanc.
  • This is a two section cable car that affords gorgeous views of Mont Blanc across the valley. Be warned that if you park near Aiguille du Midi/the center of town, you will have a very uphill walk to get there. They have parking on site, so I’d park there. But the best thing about this is that there was no line for any of it, even on a perfect day in August. So highly recommend for that alone. Plus the views are great.
  • Nice start for hiking around.
  • If you are in Chamonix, you must go up on the lift all the way to the top, to Brevent....the view is heavenly.....A MUST go .....
