#Mountain, #Lookout, #Must See
Aiguille du Midi, translated as “Needle of the Noon,” pokes the sky with the point of its peak. The sun passes over the summit at exactly noon, justifying its name to the guests sipping coffee at the summit’s cafe. Visit the viewing platform for a spectacular photo op that will save you money on a picture postcard. Aiguille du Midi reaches 3,842 m (12,605 ft) and hundreds of thousands of visitors stand in awe of its majestic beauty each year. • If you are visiting Chamonix then you definitely have to go to Aiguille du Midi! One in a kind experience. Beautiful views.  more »
  • The tunnels and viewing platforms are very exciting but not as exciting as stepping into the void!!! I also enjoyed very much the museum of mountaineering.  more »
  • Although prices are pretty expensive option, the site remains a staple of Chamonix. After a passage in the cable car that opens your eyes to the village of Chamonix, we become aware of the magic of the place once on the terraces offered by the site. One word: awesome. And what of the experience of the "step into the void". Excellent!

  • I popped up here at 3pm lots of non skiers at that time of day though the wait was only one car 15 minutes and the same on the way down. It seems there are no marked pistes from both stations so I'm not really sure what insurance you'd need. I think most insurance policies only cover on piste. Heard a few guys dismiss that saying your guides insurance would cover you but a rescue helicopter bill running into tens of thousands wouldn't be fun. Lovely views though and well worth the visit.
  • The “Step into the Void” is a glass room with the glass floor, glass walls and glass ceiling panels that allows the visitor a unique experience enhanced by 1000 meters of free air directly under their feet, situated on the uppermost terrace of the Aiguille du Midi at an altitude of 3842 metres. It claims to be the highest attraction in Europe.
  • It had been over twenty years since our last visit and we were not disappointed. Huge improvements to access and walkways enabling even better viewing. Highly recommended.
  • Such an incredible place. Unique in the world. A great view on the Mont Blanc but not only: on all the mountains. 3800 meters is quite something. Make sure to have warm clothes and coats. If you feel like skiing, the Valle Blanche is an incredible place. Make sure to have a guide, because you are going on your own responsability. But it is the most amazing place to ski. Take your camera; only skiers can see this. Really something to do in a lifetime if you know how to ski.
  • Epic! Long waits... get there really early or order a ticket online otherwise you will be waiting for ~2 hours. But, all worth it. If you do decide to get in line for a ticket, theres plenty of stores, bars and restaurants to visit in the town within walking distance. Try to plan to go on a clear day for amazing views. Ofcourse its pretty cold on top so bring a jacket or sweater
