Aiguille du Midi, translated as “Needle of the Noon,” pokes the sky with the point of its peak. The sun passes over the summit at exactly noon, justifying its name to the guests sipping coffee at the summit’s cafe. Visit the viewing platform for a spectacular photo op that will save you money on a picture postcard. Aiguille du Midi reaches 3,842 m (12,605 ft) and hundreds of thousands of visitors stand in awe of its majestic beauty each year. Put Aiguille du Midi on your schedule, and learn what else deserves a visit by using our Chamonix trip planning website.

One of the best experiences of my life. I got really light headed. The altitude was difficult to take at first, but I got used to it fairly quickly. 5-10 minutes sitting down breathing slowly and I was good. One of my friends who came with got it worse, but he just got off two red eye flights from the USA, so it might have been that too. Needless to say, don't go if you're afraid of heights. Its very expensive, but so worth it. Halfway up there is a nice little cafe and a trail to a cool mountain hike. Weather is unpredictable. Went during the very tail end of the summer season. definitely go then. Not crowded and you get all the time you want at the top. I can't wait to go again.

The view is breathtaking.

Absolutely amazing views. It is expensive (obviously given then infrastructure required to build and maintain such a project) but totally worth it.
