  • The visit to the castle of chalabre in Ariege remains an unforgettable moment: a paid entry but very resonable. plan a good half day on site. opening to 10 h00, a very nice gift shop. then it must be said that this castle is not only dedicated to the visit: there are several workshops run by volunteers and great people. a demonstration of blacksmith with the making of a knife, then a workshop of calligraphy with great animators, games of middle age, learn dances from the middle age, a demonstration of fighting on horseback, and many other interesting workshops than the other. provide an output not before 18 h00!. There is also a bar with tables and umbrellas. no regrets of charge admission because it goes directly to the association who lives to it and don't touch any subsidies. So visit! I think that I will go back! All the children family as parents! Very positive visit!

  • You would have liked to live in the middle ages or you would like to spend only what a day: do not hesitate then! I'm 39 years old and I loved. The family who runs this "attraction" took the idea to set up workshops of discovery of "activities of the middle ages": you write in pen and ink, you will test "swords" and some haumes in the Hall of arms, you will build "Romance" and "Gothic" fronts on a human scale (see Kaplas) (surprising results) and understand how they were able to make them without beam You try shooting archery, you can also draw your Crest, dance, play, forge and listen to 1 story, you will look for clues in under wood or in direct sunlight which will allow you to get air... He will have to plan your day or afternoon to workshops that care you about. The time goes so fast! The "chivalry" afternoon show is very family friendly. This isn't TV and it's live. Be patient and enjoy the simple things. Tip: plan what install you on the floor to watch, 1 CAP and water if it's hot because very little shade. Starting, my children asked me already when - what we would come back! Successful day! School: recommend! Place fun, accessible to children as educational. Campground operators: it climbs, but it's doable. Arriving from Quillan, you pass 1 Panel "camping" at a few km from the arrival of the Castle. We stayed the night, without reservations and not very expensive. It's 1 municipal camping: you are received by the local agent with ease and with a smile. A craving for Chinese food? Well this is the specialty of the campsite restaurant. And no matter what in addition: dishes of quality! (this is not 1 menu 'worker', so the price either). A real surprise in this place removed from urbanization. Old but clean toilets: very good for 1 night or 2. Tranquility assured! No sandwiches for sale on-site. We have picnicked before getting there. Price a bit high but is 1 association who does that with his recipes.

  • Great with children, activities and jousting on horseback. Pyrotechnic show. Warm welcome.

  • An atypical Cathar Castle. A lot of activities planned for children. It takes all day to go around.

  • Very average, price not worth the detour. And a show not the height, especially as a result of a master of ceremonies donor lesson that forgets that viewers are on vacation and not work meeting. Too bad.

  • A participatory Castle, with a big work of the association. A good time for children all together.

  • Volunteers passionate about this castle who live for this castle and keep it in excellent condition. The fact that the activities are participatory is a real plus. Children are feasting. Bravo and continue!
