The largest granite plateau in Europe, le Sidobre is a paradise for geologists and anyone who enjoys natural wonders. Many of these Peyro Clabado formations have uniquely shaped boulders that weigh as much as 900 tons and balance in precarious positions. Scenic and covered in beech groves, the area is wonderful for hiking, fishing, and mountain biking. Plus, you won't have crowds tourists to contend with here. Put le Sidobre into our Castres vacation generator and find out what's close by, where to stay, and where to head next.

  • Beautiful walk with family or lovers. Don't Miss Lake of the Blackbird, the priest's hat! 3 cheeses! the rock of the oie! the trembling rock! Do the entire circuit Burlats, Castres, Lafontasse, Ferrières with its castle and the Museum of Protestantism, Viane and planted stone, and don't forget Brassac with its castle, its stony 12th century bridge which spans the Agout, this is the most beautiful village on the outskirts of the Sidobre. Throughout the region are looking for small inns where you will taste local specialties and there are a lot of trout with crayfish, through the crisp or the case-muzzle (attention to find the real, uncut cow's milk sheep milk!) in the fall don't miss the Boletus... Good walk
