(3.4/5 based on 45 reviews on the web)
Located in southeastern France, Carpentras market is famous for its commercial center Comtat Venaissin and is famous for the black truffle markets. Carpentras market was once the commercial spot where merchants from Ancient Greece would come and trade. Later during the time of the Roman Empire, the site was known as the Carpentoracte Meminorum, which again went to be called “the Forum of Nero”. The city is rich in historical data pertaining to the time of the Roman Empire and is well known for the massive triumphal arch that the Romans built. The arch lies within the compound of the bishops’ palace. Work out when and for how long to visit Carpentras market and other Carpentras attractions using our handy Carpentras trip generator.
