Roman Catholic Church, Cargese

Categories: Churches, Tourist Spots
Inspirock Rating:
4.8/5 based on 55+ reviews on the web
See some of the architecture remaining from the Greek colonies on Corsica at Roman Catholic Church. From the outside, the church seems very modest with its plain colors; once inside, however, you'll likely be taken aback by the artwork you see. Vibrant frescos jump out as you enter, art pieces for different saints sit at the front, and chandeliers hang from the ceiling. The church grounds offer a good view down into town and over the water. • beautiful church on a small square with views on the sea and opposite the Catholic Church. The Interior is sumptuous and well-maintained.

  • If the outside is rather austere, inside is very rich. The overlooked for not to say face to face with the Catholic Church is amazing.

  • It is the particularity of Cargèse: 2 churches face to face. We went to St. Spriridion to attend a religious service of Orthodox rite (St. John Chrysostom): a pope welcomed even the curious visitors with a smile! A magical place... Reading and the intelligence of the offices is facilitated by the provision of a Missal, containing the original Latin text with French translation in front.
