The museum is widely considered one of the most important in Europe because it features works by Jean-Baptiste Greuze, Van Gogh, Degas, Renoir, Manet, Cézanne, Corregio, El Greco, Rubens, Matisse, Picasso, Bacon, Rodin, and dozens of other masters. You will also find items from ancient Greece and Rome, as well as 50,000 coins, medals, and seals, and 8,000 works of graphic art. The museum's collection of Egyptian artifacts alone includes over 600 pieces, making it one of the best Egyptian collections in Europe.   • Average regional Art Museum. There is a meeting of painting, ceramics/porcelain, and various decorative items. The curious tapestries. Museum on the opposite bank from the fortress and tourists here very little.

  • Nothing particularly stunning on the walls but a good selection of western art from 17th to 20th century. 
  • Try to see this building at night because the way it's illuminated is beautiful. Peaceful oasis by a large open square near the new bridge. Varied collection, a few gems - and some interesting tempora...  more »
