The gates of La Bastide St Louis were designed to protect the lower town. The military enclosure's walls were built in the 14th century, and four bastions were added at each corner of the town in the 16th century.   • Date: 26/08/2016 place to visit: La Bastide Saint Louis as everyone knows, the city of Carcassonne is composed of the Cité medieval city and the new part or Bastide. Is a city small that it runs very well walk. Can go bordering the River from the bridge old and get until the channel of Midi near the station of train, for after go down by the Center seeing it Plaza Carnot, the Cathedral, it Plaza Gambetta, it Esplanade Charles of Gaulle, them numerous shops, etc.
