  • At one end of the Place Gambetta is located Carcasonnes Musée des Beaux-Arts, established in 1836 and designed here in 1845 in a beautiful building which had previously had other public purposes. The Museum was built on the basis of private initiatives and donations. Especially at the end of 1800-century collection grew considerably. The permanent collection is arranged in 10 not quite small sale that brings visitors through European works from 1500-century and up to the 1900-century. Not all the pictures in the Museum was just thrilling, but around lit masterpieces up. There was, among other things, works by David Teniers I, David Teniers II, Jacob Jordaens, Frans Francken, Cornelius, Aert van der Neer, Gysbrecht Jan Brueghel II, Anthony van Cross, Goyen, Jan van Huysum, Jan Michiel Jansz. Van Mierevelt, José de Ribera, Jacopo da Ponte (Bassano), Giovanni Lanfranco, Salvator Rosa, Mattia Preti, Pietro Muttoni, Pierre Subleyras, Pierre Mignard, Carlo Labruzzi, Hyacinthe Rigaud, Claude Joseph Vernet, Hubert Robert, Camille Corot, Léon-Germain Pelouse, Julien Dupre, Charles-François Daubigny, Paul Huet, Gustave Courbet, Édouard-Bernard Debat Ponsan, Paul-Vayson, Jean-Auguste-Dominique Ingres, Alexandre Falguière, Benjamin constant, Albert Marquet, and the exciting neoimpressionist Achille Lauge, like the Musée des Beaux-Arts has several very fine works of. Do I have to mention two things that made the visit to Carcasonnes Musée des Beaux-Arts less well, so is it in the first place, to the lighting conditions in several of the halls are bad. The pictures are of illuminated due to the natural light from the outside, and is thus difficult to see and photograph properly. Secondly, it happened during my visit it, that three of the employees in the kustoder Museum, three otherwise very friendly ladies, come in bitterly quarrel with each other and cried very loudly for several minutes. To go on museum is like a meditation where one immerses himself in the works of art, and bring into contact with something that is different and often greater than what everyday life offers a. This meditation or devotion does not tolerate to cry up. That is why the vast majority of visitors in art museums also ask around, and is either silent or speak in whispers or hushed together. The three kustoder in a museum allows itself to arguing and shouting, is unheard of! Since this had lasted more than a minute, i went into the room where the three ladies were, and it was apparently enough for then stopped their altercation quickly and I could return to my visit. One of the ladies came into the room where I was, smiled amiably and nodded, but said nothing. These two conditions despite, it was very nice to visit the Musée des Beaux-Arts, where I used more up against three hours to see the ten halls. In addition to the permanent collection works, you can be lucky enough to visit the Museum while there is a special exhibition. Organised annually three such.
