  • A must-do! Walk to the pretty chapel and enjoy the beautiful beaches. Sunday after 15 August, procession for Sainte Marie, with traditional costumes and beautiful banners.

  • Largest island in the Bay of Morlaix (47 hectares) consisting of several islands and accessible two hours before the tide and two hours after (according to the coefficients) on foot or by car to a submersible about 800 meters floor, the Callot island is a haven of peace, a site composed of dunes, gorse, pastures, beaches and granitic massifs beaten by the waves. For centuries the vast areas of its foreshore are a paradise for the fishermen walk. We are sometimes get the clam, sometimes wild oysters and shells. In the puddles formed around the rocks we can fish shrimp bouquet, elegans or grey. North point, Wilder, is a protected natural reserve. An orientation in granite table gives all the indications on the islets and surrounding municipalities. To the West, we discover the Bay of paradise and St Pol of Leon. The East is used largely for agriculture. There are private dwellings and 9 families live there year-round. The highest point on the island is the our Lady of Kallod Chapel, whose history dates back to the 6 th century. The "Renaissance" steeple is classified historical monument. Inside, you can admire the ex-votos and a beautiful master of altar of the XVIII century. For a family walk on foot from the port, the island tour is done in 2 hours. You can observe a great variety of birds nestled in the string of sandy coves. Therefore, not to disturb them, or approaching the nests. The ecosystem is superb: thistle, Heathers, ferns, pine trees, flowers, hydrangeas. I liked the small local houses with roofs of tiles, stones eroded by the foam, their doors and windows painted blue. For me, the Callot island is what makes the charm and beauty of the Brittany coast. Exceptional views, relaxed lifestyle, beaches end. change of scenery.
