  • This small romantic market of oysters (in February we were pretty much just us and dealers) overlooks the Sea (in the distance you see Mont Saint Michel) and allows you to purchase different types of oysters (concave, flat to get the gigantic "le pied de cheval") and eat them on the spot. Must live!

  • Loads of freash oysters for a bargain and a very "democratic" way of eating them too, just sit on the wall and throw the shells to the beach below. It's interesting and cheap: we got dozen oysters for...  more »
  • We spent 6 days between Dinard and Mont Saint Michel. We stopped a Cancale. I had not gone for 50 years. At that time in 1965 there that flat oysters as in all of Britain. They were sold at the edge of the basin. Everything has changed: there are mainly some oysters. There are still a few flat oysters and a few feet of the horse. We were in October is to say in the midst of the oysters. Overall the oysters we have disappointed the number 3 to number 0. They are little fleshy and dilutes the taste of oysters in sea water. I also rinsed some with water to try to find the taste. However the prices are very affordable. I bought oysters has three different displays to assess the quaalite flat oysters are good but too small (except horse feet) a flat medium-sized oyster to count between 2 euros and 2.5 euro Oyster brings a dozen between 24 euros and 30 euros. It's too expensive for these sizes of oysters. However, I have seen a television, that some Oyster growers of Cancale offer beautiful oysters. I better make my next visit to oysters from Cancale. I emphasize that I am a fan of oysters I enjoyed regularly year-round nature or finely cooked (poached). These oysters come from different areas: pond of Thau, Bay of Arcachon, Vendée, Southern Brittany, Northern Brittany, Normandy
