La Pointe du Grouin, Cancale

(4.4/5 based on 1,100+ reviews on the web)
View the sublime coastline, islands, and ocean at La Pointe du Grouin, and you will realize why this is a tremendously popular place for 19th and 20th century artists to work. You’ll be able to see the island just offshore, but it’s an off-limits bird preserve. If you’re lucky, you may catch a glimpse of dolphins swimming around the peninsula. At low tide, you can venture down to the grotto below the headland, but beware of high tide. The seaside path leads to small ports tucked into coves. Beyond the Herpin Lighthouse, a coastal path leads past rocks to several sandy bays and to L’Anse du Verger, a plain 19th century chapel with colorful marine-colored stained glass inside. See La Pointe du Grouin and all Cancale has to offer by arranging your trip with our Cancale tour planner.

  • The restaurant of the tip of the snout are felt somewhere and Impeccable service of putting in the mouth until the digestive, not a false note... staff sometimes a little young and who does not know well the product it is used but the kitchen is divine and worthy of a star restaurant...

  • I live in the area, we we brought some visitors from the USA, we were table of 4 all together. We all ordered the same "Grand Salade" it was a salad with some foie gras, fruit de mer, smoked salmon, it was really good! Also on the menu were mussels, steak, chicken, different salads, seafood platters, fish of the day, and they have a child's menu etc, the prices were very reasonable between 8-20euros per plate and I thought that it was a good value for the money and a good address if you are in Cancale and someone in your group really doesnt like seafood. I was worried it was going to be a tourist trap and when I saw so many people on the terrace that the service would be slow but it was efficient and our waiter was quite smiley and charming. With tables outside the view is AMAZING and it was easy to park there. I would definately go back again.
  • Wonderful views of the sea! Staff said even some german. Had only drink, which was good. The toilets could be improved. Prices at the modest.

  • A beautiful setting, a service very well, and really delicious foie gras. To have a good time is really a place to go. Plus the team sings for the anniversary. ;)
