Chemin de Ronde, Cancale

(130+ reviews on the web)
Historic Walking Area
Also called "allure," Chemin de Ronde is a raised protected walkway behind a castle battlement along the coast. Builders devised the round path as a walkway to allow defenders to patrol the tops of ramparts protected by the battlements or a parapet, so they could position themselves to shoot or drop objects on enemies. This romantic walking path offers sweeping panoramic views of the coast and many opportunities to meet locals and association members who care for this ancient trail. Plan your visit to Chemin de Ronde and a wealth of other attractions, well-known and undiscovered, using our Cancale travel itinerary planner.

  • A beautiful ride aboard sea and rock front. The view is gorgeous and the pleasant path crosses the sea to offer us views breathtaking. Attention however to the people with reduced mobility and young children, some places are difficult.

  • We must start swell directly, and follow the path until at least the tip of Grouin to spend wonderful colors of the Bay, where the pines are still numerous, along the Cancale rock and fort of the press, before crossing the handles of Port briac, Pican Port and Sea Port to access the grandiose vision of the tip of the Grouin bordered by the island of the Landes and the horizon.
