4.8/5 based on 120 reviews on the web
Also called "allure," Chemin de Ronde is a raised protected walkway behind a castle battlement along the coast. Builders devised the round path as a walkway to allow defenders to patrol the tops of ramparts protected by the battlements or a parapet, so they could position themselves to shoot or drop objects on enemies. This romantic walking path offers sweeping panoramic views of the coast and many opportunities to meet locals and association members who care for this ancient trail. • Chemin de Ronde or the path of the Customs officers, also known as smugglers ' Path stretches hundreds of kilometres along the coast of Brittany. We went through a few dozen kilometres to the East and the West from Saint Malo. We recommend this area in September due to the calm, beautiful views, and the breeze from the ocean.
