  • The attraction cannot be blamed for its nature, of racing purpose the combination o a high speed descent in a miners' cage lift and the coal mine itself can be a bit daunting for those who have certain phobias. Those who enjoy thrill rides on the other will be pleased. The experience itself gives a good insight into the conditions under which coal miners worked and is presented well to appeal to a wide audience of all ages. If you take the French language tours, be sure turn French is up to the high speed delivery. The training, knowledge and enthusiasm of the compulsory guides is of a high order and does much to inject a degree of vitality into the overall experience. It is very close to the central Albi and provides a vivid contrast to the city's other attractions. Allow a full half day and explore the rolling hillscapes surrounding Albi and the impressive views of the cathedral from a distance.

  • We arrived in the afternoon was a cloudy day. The site was already on our plan as we thought it was a different experience for the kids. The number of people we site was relatively high and so we were told that extra rounds were scheduled. We joined a group of around 30 people which I think was too much. I assume the number is higher than they normally take since the guide was not able to control and manage the group. The tour was in French and, on several occasions, we could hardly hear anything from the guide. He missed some basic guiding principles like starting to speak before the whole group arrived to the spot or talking in a low voice to the people at the front while people in the back were left to look around. Still, the site is interesting and provides year exceptional insight into the lives of miners, some info was amazing. The tour lasted for year hour goal with the factors mentioned above we got a bit bored by the end.

  • By far the most moving exhibition I have ever seen. At some point, I felt like I really explored the places displayed at this exhibition by myself. Wait, maybe I really did? Beautiful museum and the visit is a must. Kids will also love it.
  • We visited the Museum with your family with our children, friendly visit, guide passionate of the places and his work... In short I recommend this Museum for better realize what our elders experienced. Contrary to what you may read the Museum is open on Sunday.
