Located in the Château de Caen, covers the history of the region--from the early cave dwellers to the Vikings to the 20th century. You can examine 80,000 objects that trace the physical and cultural evolution of Normandy. • Normally I don't visit on site museums but I decided to visit this one and was not disappointed . There was lots to see and also much more than simple art. Lots to discover about the history of Normandy and William the Conqueror in particular.
  • Small but nice museum. But for some reason folklore musea aren't really my thing.
  • A good quality, brief explanation of the history of the region back to prehistoric times.
  • Very interesting and complete Museum on Norman history and the city of Caen. Workshops, tours and activities books for children are offered. Temporary exhibitions are very well made and varied.
