  • This castle of the 12th century is worth the visit. We stayed two pleasant days. The meal prepared by the chef booked us a surprise: my wife and I never ate a delicious duck breast. We stayed in a huge room in a Castle Tower. A real dream! Unfortunate however that this castle is also well maintained that it deserves. But it's understandable because it would cost a fortune.

  • Castle to the unique history that saw the Bourbons... Ancient commanderie of the Knights Templar, this fortress saw Borgia change its structure, Henri IV's is housed, the Bourbons lived surprising stories... In short, both by his story that his architecture, do not miss it but... There are non-assistance to endangered heritage... Only 4 people over 9 months to manage the hotel... So multitasking staff, idle and exhausted... Because the Bourbons do more live there recently (the Countess died 2 months ago) and were no longer owners 18 years... This castle is left abandoned by the current owner, it's a shame... Everything seems to be done with odds and ends, no quality in the infrastructure. The waitress was nice but it was not enough to allay our fears. The room is clean but do not look into the details... Don't forget your shower gel, ultra mini sample is only made available to... For what is the restaurant... The kitchen is on the ground floor, room on the 1st with a corridor to cross with one person serving... Despite his good will and his energy, someone is missing... The Hall is very nice but then again... The details that "kill"... Candelabra of Askew electrified including half of the light bulbs are missing or do not work... Of the same ilk, chairs plastic cheap (sic!) and besides not matching in the gardens, or piles of paper TV collection of CB lying around, dusty, or even a girl who hit you and we ask ourselves what is his job because it doesn't cost has absolutely nothing when we talk to him, and does not include certain simple concepts of service in the hotel industry... Anyway, we had a very nice time anyway because the waitress for dinner was also an excellent guide on our prior visit of the Castle. But there is still this feeling of anger to see a magnificent heritage abused and underexploited. To see that much is still possible. Wish that kind patrons are interested in quickly...

  • Château de Busset Busset-that of Castle on a rock dominating the Valley of the Allier-was built at the end of the 13th century by order of Renaud de Vichy. That was six years long (1250-20 January 1256) Grand Master of the Knights Templar. That strengthens the suspicion that the history of this castle dates back to that of the Knights Templar, which on this place would have had a commandery. In 1387, the castle was owned by the family d'Alègre Tourzel. It was a descendant of this family, namely d'Alègre in 1488 with Marguerite Pierre de Bourbon, son of the Liège Bishop Louis married. This Pierre de Bourbon was thus the ancestor of the House of Busset. In 1530 married Philippe de Bourbon Busset with Louise Borgia, the daughter of the famous Cesare Borgia. Under her impulse was the old Castle in an Italian Renaissance look. You will notice though, once you get the drawbridge between the two large towers. You will then arrive on a large courtyard, surrounded by all kinds of buildings. Actually, there is a castle from two entities, linked the ' pavillon de l'Horloge '. On the one hand you have the building on the ground floor with a promenade lined with semicircular arches, clearly inspired on the arcades that you find in Italian monasteries. This is the part that was built by order of Louise Borgia. The southern building is flanked by the Orion Tower. This tower has an octagonal roof and is named after the constellation that the Knights Templar of on this tower like observed. On the west side of this building you have a terrace, from which you overlooking the gardens, laid out "à la française". Until the French Revolution, there were few substantial changes carried out to the Castle. So you see in one of the towers still the very beautiful XVI century frescoes, some of which depict scenes inspired by a poem by Henri Baude: "Dictz Moraulx". Other show religious images. In the ' oratorio ' you can see some XV-century wall paintings. In the 19th century there were major restoration works carried out, involving different rooms-such as the galerie Saint-Louis and the Grand Salon-again were decorated. In the ' Grand Salon ' you can see some wooden panels, which were then restored.

  • A beautifully situated Chateau near the town of Vichy. Chateau is something below the village of the Valley of the Allien in the Madelain mountains above Vichy with a fantastic panorama. The chateau is located in a peaceful place. Very neat place image, quiet and romantic. Visit is highly recommended.
