Specialty Museum
Once the center of great innovation in paper-making, Le Moulin à Papier de Brousses showcases a traditional paper mill where you can see a variety of types of paper produced using old methods. Discover antique technologies and craftsmanship, including the use of uncommon materials like rag paper, lavender, ferns, and other substances. The production at the mill stopped for many years in the 20th century, but eventually resumed due to a desire to preserve the history and techniques of the original industry. Writers, historians, artists, and printers have come to prize the high-quality papers created at this facility. • Lovely friendly demonstration of the history of paper making, tour takes up to 90 mins and tend to be on the hour throughout the day. Note though closed for lunch 12.00 - 2.00 pm.
  • Great place, explanations of the manufacture of paper, from its origins. End of visit, small workshop for children to make their own sheets of paper. Very good surprise. Pic nic available tables.
