Once the center of great innovation in paper-making, Le Moulin à Papier de Brousses showcases a traditional paper mill where you can see a variety of types of paper produced using old methods. Discover antique technologies and craftsmanship, including the use of uncommon materials like rag paper, lavender, ferns, and other substances. The production at the mill stopped for many years in the 20th century, but eventually resumed due to a desire to preserve the history and techniques of the original industry. Writers, historians, artists, and printers have come to prize the high-quality papers created at this facility. • Not only do you get a demonstration of how paper is made in the artisanal style, but you get given an entire history of paper and it's forebears, with plenty that is hands on. The shop is also full...

  • Loved this place. So interesting and well presented. A great combination of history and practical demonstrations. Whole family enjoyed it. The visit was in French but we followed along fine with an English handout. Highly recommended.
  • Very interesting tour given by Céline whose family ran the paper mill until the end of the 80s. In the 90s it was restored and nowadays quality paper is still made and sold at their shop.
  • Very interesting, excellent tour guide and the walk to it was beautiful, even got to make some paper,
  • To start, this place is in a stunningly beautiful little valley. You can pak under the oak trees and picnic there too if you like. It is a paper mill that is still operated by the family that has been working it for generations. The waterwheel still operates and the tour is really well done by a very cheery and patient guide. It has responded to the mass-production of paper by concentrating on the craft of producing by hand, fine quality artists' papers of many types. A must for everyone to visit this unique and delightful place.
  • Great little hidden gem (you must look hard to find it) Amazing hand crafted paper and quality stationary at reasonable prices with a great service
