The Musée du Berry is a museum in Bourges. Its collection was founded by Claude-Denis Mater in 1834. At first housed in part of the Palais Jacques-Cœur then in what is now the Hôtel d'Angleterre, rue Jacques Cœur, in 1891 it moved to its present home in the hôtel Cujas. • The building is a very beautiful old mansion. Nice small home garden. Staff very friendly and courteous, very helpful. One more significant. The collections are not very large but allow a visit of an hour free very nice and quiet. Magnificent collection of Roman funeral stelae. Splendid mourners of the tomb of the Duke of Berry. Superb crucifixion of Champaigne. We would like a little more explanation on the use of the objects.
