Cathedrale St-Etienne, Bourges
(4.8/5 based on 950+ reviews on the web)
Illuminating an array of warm colored light onto cool stone, the original stained glass windows in Cathedrale St-Etienne date back to around 1215. This Roman Catholic cathedral is dedicated to Saint Stephen and retains the seat of the Archbishop of Bourgesretains. The "Last Judgment" on the west façade is a masterpiece of Gothic sculpture from the 1240s, while an emblematic mural depicting the Crucifixion dates back to 1475. The original mechanism from 1424 still tick-tocks in the astronomical clock, with the well-preserved clock face painted by Jean d'Orleans to symbolize the signs of the Zodiac. • It is part of the world heritage of unesco. It is the historic heart of Bourges and is at the center of the pie sauvegarde.rien that such visit it allows us to amortize our taxes :). He must spend enough time for example before and after lunch, stroll through the gardens, and attend, icing on the cake, a free concert in the gardens to keep the lasting impression.
