  • Bourdeilles has it all! The best part for our family was the art project for kids inside the medieval castle. They designed and made their own coats of arms while learning about medieval aesthetics an...  more »
  • 2 castles: a medieval where the visit is quickly made and one of the renaissance. Small garden. If you go, take an audioguide or take the guided tour otherwise there will be no great interest. On the other hand, if you are with teenagers the escape game is great!

  • We visited the castle and participated in the escape Game at the Château de Bourdeilles with 3 teenagers. The castle employee who was to guide us and help us in our escape game spent 45 minutes chatting with another employee. We paid 20 euros per person to not understand anything about the game. Very disappointed and rather upset!

  • A beautiful place to visit. We didn't opt for the English spoken guide device but we managed to enjoy it none the less. The tower is a good climb and if your uneasy with spiral staircases or have issues with balance then it's not for you, however if you can get to the top the rewards are wonderful wiyj breath taking views. The house part hosts a wide range of historic items to view. It takes about 45 minutes to an hour to get around it. Not to bad a price really though would be better if you didn't need to pay for the guide in your language.
  • Beautiful castle, with a mediaeval and a Renaissance part. Nice view over the village, the river and the countryside.
  • Lovely Renaissance chateau with mediaeval tower. Formal garden; fantastic views. Not huge and not crammed with artefacts, but a very pleasant way to pass an hour, or maybe two.
  • Chateau de Bourdeilles is an interesting mix of the very old, old and recently old .... but it's sometimes difficult to tell the difference. The tour of the new Chateau was well presented, interesting, historic and at times, funny! But you couldn't sense the connection between the Chateau and the stories. It felt a bit like a mish-mash museum where a lot of the items were connected with a time period rather than the house, it's inhabitants or historic events. There was obviously a gaping hole in some of the history of the place so overall, it felt a little hollow. All in all, it's still an interesting day out and the scenery from the top of the keep is awesome.
  • Wonderfull chateau in the center of a picture postcard village.
