Place de la Bourse, Bordeaux

4.7
The reflection of the palace on the grounds of Place de la Bourse creates the largest water mirror effect in the world. This is a public square, but the palace called Palais de la Bourse on the grounds showcases French classical architecture and the art of the 18th century. On either side of the central pavilion, you'll see Hôtel des Fermes and Hôtel de la Bourse. The famous "Three Graces Fountain,” representing Aglaia, Euphrosyne, and Thalia, the daughters of Zeus, stands at the center of the square. • To see both day and night. Both coming from the Riverside old town centre. The evening in the gardens around happens to see groups of young men who play for practice ... not far from the Conservatory of Bordeaux and the Sports Center.

  • Extraordinary square. In the center of the city and next to the river. From it you can visit the historic centre. Beginning of the street St. Remi with multiple restaurants. Close the squares of St. Pierre, Parliament Square and Plaza de la Comedia.

  • Super impressive main square by the river. Its quite a busy spot (obviously) but great for taking in the view, people watching & trying to get your postcard shot...
  • Great except tram stop should be more evident and there is no ticket machine here either as is a special place where it is prohibited so you have to walk to next tramstop to buy one.
  • One of the most famous square in Bordeaux. Don't forget to check at the Miroir d'eau straight ahead and take some great shots.
  • Beautiful part of the city. Cool your dogs off in the mist on a hot day, they'd thank you if they could.
  • It was beautiful. Nice restaurants near by. The fountain of mirrors was turned off unfortunately.

Where to stay in Bordeaux

Most hotels in Bordeaux sit conveniently located a stone's throw away from the train station. Look to Quinconces Square and Gambetta Square for high-end hotels. Those who prefer more budget-friendly accommodations may want to seek out a youth hostel--a relatively recent addition to the city. To secure a spot here, make sure to book ahead of time. In addition to hotels and hostels, choose from guest rooms in a typical Bordeaux house, or a family-friendly beachside campsite.
