  • A little welcome back on the history of Bordeaux. More enjoyable with explanations of a guided tour.

  • Rather nice to find the Museum of customs on a beautiful place (of the purse) in the Center. We walked out of curiosity and we made discoveries obviously fakes and surprising as a picture of Claude Monet. The visit is not very long and be cheap.

  • It's a nice Museum, well documented but not very wide. I understand why we don't see a lot of Customs officers on the ground. They cannot be everywhere there are already 3 to the Museum Fund and not newly hired young people: since they were warrant officers and warrant officers heads. It is rich in France to pay grades to do this work. In this period there is t he not other occupations to give these soldiers?

  • This building is woaww!
  • Extremely wonderful place to explore
  • As its name suggests, this museum is about customs system may have existed in the region and in France during the last centuries. It's a pretty demanding insofar as, Museum to enjoy, but spend a lot of time to read detailed enough signs. Next to that, there are alcoves whose content is under-exploited (sous-expliqué). What gives the Museum an impression of heterogeneous zoning with a side rather "rough" where it is, for example, impossible to interest a child then one side enough "loose" with objects and uniforms.

  • Much more interesting that his name might indicate, this little Museum on the ground floor is quiet and relevant, and details (without burdening us with details) the history of customs in France from J-Baptist Colbert (17th century). The space is nice and friendly employees. The Bordeaux Customs Museum is more interesting than it may sound, presenting the history-both social and economic-of taxation & border customs in France. Small, worthwhile museum in year attractive hotel with kind staff. For €3, so it's the perfect way to spend year hour.

Where to stay in Bordeaux

Most hotels in Bordeaux sit conveniently located a stone's throw away from the train station. Look to Quinconces Square and Gambetta Square for high-end hotels. Those who prefer more budget-friendly accommodations may want to seek out a youth hostel--a relatively recent addition to the city. To secure a spot here, make sure to book ahead of time. In addition to hotels and hostels, choose from guest rooms in a typical Bordeaux house, or a family-friendly beachside campsite.
