  • The small museum at 2 steps of the door Dijeaux. It is reached by a small street, one enters a court and through a small door. Admission is cheap, but once inside it comes a little to yourself in this succession of rooms furnished and decorated with antiques (and not only that, now there is the contemporary), but without a lot of information. This place suffers from a lack of communication, it should perhaps not much to make furniture and exhibits are highlighted. See for the exposed curiosities.

  • I returned willingly to the MAD when new exhibitions but also to find this atmosphere of old, its nooks, its exhibitions, its furniture and of course its smell!

  • Despite a friendly reception, small notes updated information available, difficult to navigate and not really clear explanations. The mixture of the contemporary in the middle of the rest I was not satisfied.

  • Interesting set up of beautiful French house. Fully furnished with additional display cases if ceramic, silver, and glass wear. Information wonderfully presented in both French and English. Beautiful wood floors.
  • Excellent series of room-sets illustrating interior decoration in Bordeaux over the years.
  • Museum old-school", that smells like dust and anything: everything is mixed, unlikely and without logical path. Big disappointment! ... And what about the word DESIGN announced in the name of the place. Largely preventable during a visit of Bordeaux!

  • The visit to the Museum worth by its location in a beautiful hotel particular, typically Bordeaux. Visitors will help them be aware of the lifestyle of the good company from Bordeaux in the eighteenth and nineteenth centuries. Negatives though: collections are a bit redundant (a lot of earthenware, porcelain and silver) and insufficiently highlighted. Finally, the museography insist little or insufficiently well on maintained relationships between the decorative arts and the history of the Bordeaux City: collections of Caribbean inspirations have been relegated to the top floor. the parallel between the age of Bordeaux gold (in the 18th century) and the downgrading of the city can also be seen in the decorative arts is not quite readable.

  • Of sumptuous rooms decorated with period furniture Louis XIV, Louis XV, etc. A visit that makes us to escape the time of one hour, a very good time in this authentic building! To echo some notice, I myself also not understood the "design" in the title of the Museum. We are 100% in the decorative art of time.
