Where to stay in Bordeaux

Most hotels in Bordeaux sit conveniently located a stone's throw away from the train station. Look to Quinconces Square and Gambetta Square for high-end hotels. Those who prefer more budget-friendly accommodations may want to seek out a youth hostel--a relatively recent addition to the city. To secure a spot here, make sure to book ahead of time. In addition to hotels and hostels, choose from guest rooms in a typical Bordeaux house, or a family-friendly beachside campsite.

  • The area for home fans behind the goal, which the English call "The Kop", is as vibrant as any EPL team. I paid just 17 euros for the upper level. I strongly recommend not arriving before the gates op...  more »
  • Great modern stadium not that far from the centre of Bordeaux. Went there by tram, about 35 mins ride from town. Our crowd was 15,000, but no problem getting back the same way. Most fans seem to drive...  more »

  • Euro 2016. Croatia vs Spain. 😃
  • An outstanding stadium. Looks great outside and inside. Wales beat Slovakia 2 1 to end a perfect day
  • Firstly, the downside... It is a 2/3 km north of the city. It is deliberately out of the way and there are virtually no facilities outside of the ground. As you approach the stadium, it doesn't really stand out and it felt disappointing. However. when you get into the ground and study the stadium. It becomes increasingly impressive. It is beautifully designed. With over 900 stanchions supporting the structure. This and the white colour, makes it look like a piece of modern art...c'est French style. When you see the pitch for the first time, it takes the breath away. The viewpoint from my seat was excellent. The sound system and the large screens are excellent. New stadia in the uk look the same, lack character and have little architectural style. This lovely stadium is unique and would have had 5 stars if it was closer to the city and/or had more facilities near yo the ground.
