Beautiful well maintained Castle. We feel the love of a job well done, in compliance with the art. The place is full of history shared by our guide, and which we delight at the visit. And the tasting to the final n is better. Thank you ladies.

A perfect cellar tour. The guide was adorable and knew answer without concern all our questions. Also a nice tasting at the end. A beautiful castle, beautiful cellars, for a good wine.

A winery visit, with the lovely estate. A teenager who was taken by the visit! Really nice to do and a wine to enjoy that spoils any visit. Very good wine, good visit. To do.

For many years I have thoroughly enjoyed Chateau Haut Marbuzet to the extent that it is my favourite wine. I booked a visit to the chateau by phone some 2 weeks before we were due to visit Bordeaux. For me this was akin to a pilgrimage and the visit lived up to all of my (slightly romantic!) expectations. Hosted on a one to one basis we walked the grounds and listened to the family and the estate history before entering the winery, cellars and bottling areas. There followed a tasting and as a bonus my wife fell for Chateau Chambert Marbuzet and I endorsed my love of Haut Marbuzet. A wonderful visit lasting some two hours - interesting, informative and a most pleasant and civilised couple of hours spent in a beautiful location.

We LOVE, LOVE, LOVE this wine and everything about this winery - beautiful, intimate, lovely people, and delicious wines. It is a must-see with a must-buy selection of incredible wines.

You must not talk about the wines. Excellent! Very personal guided tour and tasting through the head. Highly recommended, also thanks to reasonable prices.

Where to stay in Bordeaux

Most hotels in Bordeaux sit conveniently located a stone's throw away from the train station. Look to Quinconces Square and Gambetta Square for high-end hotels. Those who prefer more budget-friendly accommodations may want to seek out a youth hostel--a relatively recent addition to the city. To secure a spot here, make sure to book ahead of time. In addition to hotels and hostels, choose from guest rooms in a typical Bordeaux house, or a family-friendly beachside campsite.
