Specialty Museum Museum
La Maison de la Magie Robert-Houdin will try to fool you with trickery, hocus-pocus, and magic, but you'll never be fooled by machines, installations, pictures, and music. Amusing museum installations pair science with superstition to test your ability to recognize reality, while feats of balance and skill honors jugglers of the Middle Ages in the Greek temple room. You may be surprised to recognize notable figures in magic's history including the 18th century physicist and magician, Joseph Pinetti Willedall de Merci, and genius inventor, Buatier De Kolta.

It's not your eyesight and you're not losing your mind-- there really is a life-sized "hallucinoscope" there. Depicting the literary worlds of Jules Verne, you'll swear your eyes are deceiving you as you navigate "20,000 Leagues Under the Sea." Your children will love the chessboard of optical illusions, the optics and electricity used to conjure magical craft, and the mysterious clock. A visit to La Maison de la Magie Robert-Houdin represents just the start of the adventure when you use our Blois family vacation planner to plot your vacation.

  • Right at castle doorsteps a fancy show is performed every hour with fake dragons and fancy funny music. Good to see before or after the visit at the Blois castle.  more »

  • After taking the kids through castle and castle in the area, this can be a reward for them. A small museum packed with history of magic and some artifacts too. Don't miss the dragons!  more »

  • 2nd time here. Always an adventure for the kids (and me)
  • Good attraction for families with children. But good for the parents too.
  • The dragon facade is a must see, especially with young kids. The interior / museum itself was rather disappointing
  • Good magic show
  • It's a very interesting attraction in town, it's a house with robots coming out of windows with different forms.
