  • We said that tends to be almost always closed. I was built in times of Tsar Alejandro III in the 19TH century, it is located next to the Hotel du Palais. It has a beautiful dome and a small garden.

  • Church of the intercession of the Virgin Mary and St. Alexander Nevsky-here is the full name of this temple, which is located in Biarritz. Initially, the Orthodox community in Biarritz was gathered on the service, held at Villa Eugénie, which was the summer residence of the French Empress and wife of Napoleon the third. These services attended Maria Feodorovna, wife of the Russian Emperor Alexander III. A few years after the French Emperor's death in 1873 year Eugene sold Villa, which the new owners turned first at the Casino, and then to the hotel. Therefore, the local Orthodox community decided to build a new Church, a separate building. The decision was made in 1879, the year an Ad Hoc Committee was established, which was collecting donations and organizational issues. The project for the Church of Alexander Nevsky developed Nicholas nikonov, one of the most famous architects of St. Petersburg, many working in the field of Church architecture. Construction work in Biarritz was started in 1890, and already two years later, the consecration of the Church, which was attended by the Russian Ambassador in Paris, Baron Arthur Morengejm, Duke George Leuchtenberg and authorities. The Church is currently in effect. The Church is open for visiting every day and just a few hours.
