  • Outside, I expected to find the wealth of the Orthodox churches visited previously, and in fact, it is a big gaping dome without no mural or gilding including plaster to cracks and crumbles. Fortunately, there is a large net to protect the people underneath but it suits not the aesthetics of this monument. Surprise that the present Russian community on Biarritz is not more rallying to save such a church...

  • From the outside, we say that this church is impressive by its architecture and it gives really want to visit although visits did not begin until 3:30. But then what a disappointment when you enter... We go up a staircase and on the 1st floor, we wonder where we are. From the outside, it looks huge but of what we're shown is really all small. That the Church needs the word restoration is low given the internal State and saw that a net stretched ceiling holds the plaster and paint that are crumbling above our heads. On the other hand, when you see all this dust on the icons and paintings, when you see used candles hang down in a sort of flat with sand in it... For the respect of this place and the visitors, even if the place is entirely to be restored, it would be good to not to neglect its cleanliness.

  • Very big disappointment! Indeed, it took us 5 calls in order to have a person to give us the days and opening hours because they are not listed on the site. Upon arrival, comments from visitors who came out were not very encouraging. We went to the first floor and were welcomed by a religious, pretty little motivation, who handed us a brochure without more explanation. The Church is in a sad state, and this, from the floor to the ceiling! Dust, the walls look old and pieces of plaster which stand out, fortunately retained by a net. We had never visited Orthodox Church, what a pity.
