Paroisse Saint Nazaire, Beziers

(4.4/5 based on 480+ reviews on the web)
A Roman Catholic cathedral dating from the 13th century, Paroisse Saint Nazaire resembles a Gothic-style fortress, including square towers and fortified walls replete with gargoyles, wrought iron gates, and a decorated facade. Enter to see the interior's columns and Romanesque capitals, friezes, Gothic windows, statues, and an altar in polychrome marble. Also look for the six large paintings inside--three depicting scenes from the life of Moses and three showcasing scenes from the life of Constantine and his mother, Saint Helena. Some walls are partially covered in ancient frescoes, which were damaged at one time and then partially restored. Our Beziers itinerary builder makes visiting Paroisse Saint Nazaire and other Beziers attractions simple, and helps you make a travel plan personal to you.

  • view of a part of BÉZIERS and the surrounding villages if you have the opportunity to spend 14/07 you will see all the fireworks in the area. The Cathedral is impressive and also enjoy visiting the cloister just next door.

  • Yes the Cathedral is worth a visit with its point of view. But it is the whole of the old town that you take the time to discover. Its alleys, its mansions, its facades late 19th are as many witnesses of a rich past. Really a good example of rehabilitation of a formerly moribund Center. A happy surprise.
