Villa Kerylos, Beaulieu-sur-Mer

Historic Site · Tourist Spot
Villa Kerylos, a Greek-style villa, offers an understanding of ancient Greek history--as well as a view from its gardens of the St.-Jean-Cap-Ferrat peninsula and its magnificent houses. The villa's corner tower is the star attraction, and the furnishings are exact copies of Grecian originals, crafted using traditional methods. The southern portion of the villa houses the main rooms. The eastern portion overlooks the sea and the steep banks of the Riviera. • As an architect I enjoyed Kerylos. The audio guide is good, perhaps a bit too detailed, but worth getting. I find the synthesis of Greek architecture with modern conveniences fascinating.
  • We frequently holiday on Cap Ferrat but had missed this place tucked away. Worth a couple of hours. Some nice eateries in nearby Beaulieu too.
  • It is a beautiful villa, furnished with all the original furniture and frescoes. Having been to Pompeii, where all the ruins are bare. It is nice to see this villa in all its finery and imagine what it would have looked like. The entrance fee of €11.50 is a little steep for what is there.
  • Very nice. Part of the exterior was closed due to some refurbishment works.
  • A must-see. Unimaginable amount of detail that went into building the villa. The views from from the villa are breathtaking. We were quite lucky to have met a Greek person who kindly gave some very insightful comments.
