  • Lost in the Vendée, this Dungeon is a masterpiece of military architecture. At the top of it, a breathtaking view on the surrounding countryside. The gardens of the Dungeon are superb and the plants that make them up are varied! In addition, rates are quite reasonable! Summer, beautiful nocturnes take place and relive the site... in the light of the torches! Bonus: take advantage of your presence in the town of Pareds-Bazoges to visit the dolmen of the Cistus of necks, but also to go dine in the excellent restaurant located a few meters from the Dungeon "Hostel of the Dungeon"! Enjoy your visit! ;-)

  • We found the life of a family of Lords and their Knights in the middle age, as well as life in the early 20th century in the Vendée, the bakehouse, the forge, a herb garden, a Dovecote and two goats. The young woman who hosts will give you the answer to all the questions that may arise as a result of this visit. The places are well preserved, including the homes of the little town that encircles the Castle and the Church. The only downside is the accessibility because markets are relatively small, but this is explained by the physical setting. For € 5.50 there are lot of things to discover!

  • a spiral staircase leads you at the top of the Dungeon a view on the Castle and the village. The various elements around the Dungeon are very well equipped, like the garden of the middle ages

  • English visiting: This is a lovely renovated dungeon in Bazoges. It boasts a panoramic view at the top of the tower (up a narrow spiral staircase), a lovely garden (with descriptions and medieval uses of the plants) and a small art gallery of sorts (possibly local art?). 5 € entry for adults (less for kids and there is also a reduction category but not sure what this applies to!). Well restored with a helpful receptionist at the entrance who spoke English and was able to give basic instructions on moving around the dungeon and a English leaflet on the tower and garden. Worth a visit!
  • The exhibits are interesting and the play on words and the light in the room makes us the more immersive tour. The beautiful and well-maintained garden. The only thing missing is the poverty of parts in the Dungeon. We should add elements to advantage.

  • Wonderful site, intelligently put in value with limited means. We had a great time. Thanks for the Nice welcome. A suggestion: open the Church periods open to visitors of the site. Congratulations for this exemplary valuation!
