The Château de Baugé is a restored 15th century castle in the commune of Baugé-en-Anjou in the Maine-et-Loire département of France.HistoryThe castle existed during the second half of the 14th century. It was seized in 1430 for Yolande of Aragon. Between 1455 and 1465, the architect Guillaume Robin rebuilt it for the Count of Anjou, René.The castle is the property of the commune and is now a municipal museum. It has been protected since 1961 as a monument historique by the French Ministry of Culture.

  • It's true, there's not much to see inside but this small castle is remarkable in its design and its volumes. Theatrical tour and you will understand why you chose to visit the castle of Baugé and not another. The site looks great and its beautiful exterior. If you want to complete the visit, browse the city and you will be surprised by these small treasures of architecture.
