Founded in the 12 e s, the Abbey were the Lucerne is located between Avranches and Granville, in a vast green and peaceful. Its restoration, undertaken since 50 years on the initiative of a young passionate Abbot, offers visitors a beautiful architectural complex dominated by a superbly saved Romanesque church. A few adjacent buildings recall the presence of the monks. In the surrounding park, the beautiful home of the Abbot owner and various constructions built over the centuries including a mill and an imposing aqueduct supplying the machines of a former mill installed in the walls of the Abbey after the Revolution. Also note a very beautiful and vast loft attesting to the importance of the commercial activities of this place. All travels in 60 to 90 minutes, following a clear and interesting informative staking. Friendly staff that deserves to be highlighted.

We regret a little that a large part of the buildings is in bad condition and therefore not accessible. The visit was not up to our expectations and price (6euros per person) even if it is a good deed: participate in the financing of the renovation. Nevertheless, the ballad on the outside is nice.

Weather, superb walk in the Park of this important Abbey were nestled in the hollow of a small Valley Green Palm. Since the 1960s many buildings crumbling received a copy backup and a spectacular but scrupulous restoration always underway. The tour is free and many explanatory signs along the way between Gatehouse, Abbey Romanesque cellars, colombier, water plant and Abbey House... I highly recommend to lovers of history, of old stones and tranquility, 15 km from Granville.
