Fondation Dina Vierny, Banyuls-sur-mer

Fondation Dina Vierny serves as a museum dedicated to the paintings and sculptures of artist Aristide Maillol. Discover the sensitive works of this Banyuls sur Mer native, who was often overshadowed by his giant contemporary, August Rodin. The artist would retreat here, among the olive trees and vineyards, to meditate and work. Browse the collection of his works in the intimate museum, then take a walk through the peaceful sculpture garden. The museum also features temporary exhibits. Note that there are no refreshments available on site. Put Fondation Dina Vierny on your schedule, and learn what else deserves a visit by using our Banyuls-sur-mer trip planner .

  • The best of the works seems to be in Paris. Genuine interest: the walk to get there. Welcome to improve

  • What a beautiful discovery, this place of life of a simple, quiet beauty. We were alone in the afternoon (in November)... it was soft and intimate to roam around in his little house, read the explanations and citations, see the movie made on him a year before his death and admire his sculptures, drawings and paintings.

  • Former birthplace of Maillol - later Studio - with a small museum. Bronzes, drawings, graphics and some paintings can be seen. A video demonstration (s / w / film, digitized) shows Maillol in old age and parts of his Ministry in BANYULS and its surroundings. Interesting and informative!
