Categories: Caves, Nature & Parks
Inspirock Rating:
4.5/5 based on 85+ reviews on the web
Walk the man-made path to explore the underground network of chasms at Gouffre d'Esparros. The guide leading you through the cave will offer information about the aragonite, gypsum crystals, calcite concretions, and stalactites. Marvel at the size of the cave crystals and their unique formations. Emerging crystals create shapes reminiscent of flowers peeking out of a garden bed. During check-in, you'll receive a protective hat with an LED headlamp. • The chasm of Esparros is a geological and tourist site located in the Valley of the baronies in the high Pyrenees. Exceptional site by the profusion of its concretions in particular of aragonites, real "stone flower" that line the walls. The visit to discover a magical underground garden safely. The natural colors of the very rare crystals, concretions of aragonites, genuine rock crystal, are enhanced by a new LED lighting. We're making progress in large rooms and galleries carved and sculpted by water flowing forming of draperies and long stalactites reflecting in basins and small pools. We stayed at the room of the Lake mouth gape at the beauty of the place. The show is magical, the fabulous landscape. We guess drip evolution of this mineral universe. The visit, on a horizontal plane, takes about 1 hour. The temperature is about 13 ° (bring a sweater) photos and videos are prohibited for reasons of right to the image, but especially in the respect and the preservation of the places. Off season I advise you to book 24 hours in advance (imperative), the number of visitors is limited per day. The Gulf attracts more and more world. Not to be missed.

  • Glass and nice tour by against big problem of organization as a result of a telephone reservation, at the entrance on the display panel the booking are priority but arrived at the reception desk a group of 5 people (without reservation) passed us so 2 people in our group could not go home because there was more space! And this despite the reservation! no commercial gesture to catch the blow, the person at the reception who questioned our reservation! A pity to do 1 hr drive to keep almost half of the group in front of the entrance.

  • A visit interesting and beautiful. The flowers of aragonites are wonderful. It takes an hour to walk in the middle of these large long stalactites decorated rooms. The guide explanations were complete.
