  • Nice discovery! The Calvet Museum in a beautiful mansion has very interesting collections: from the Egypt, passing through paintings from the 16th to the 20th century of provincial, national and international artists. Works for everyone; everyone will find his account. Nice staff: on your bag will be searched, we'll follow the gaze in the bathrooms, but so many treasures deserve protection.

  • What magnificent discovery is a very nice Museum on a human scale with collections so eclectic that one is never bored. We discovered Egyptian Antiquities in a living room 18 eme through the Flemish painting or collections of the 20th. .... And the Gallery of sculptures with its colonnades and large windows, bathed in Sun is lovely. I'm definitely going back for the 1 èr floor will reopen.

  • This museum is located in a beautiful building with inner courtyard. We headed away in the gallery containing a tiny part of Egyptian history and fascinates our little 5 year old son. He did not disappoint and neither do we. The only downside are the showcases a little high, we had to wear our little budding archaeologist... For the rest of the tour from room to room of wonderful paintings we have delighted and have selected our young visitors ' attention. For us, it is a successful mission, we can and we need to get young children in these magical places that are museums.

  • Underwhelming art you've seen at any big mainstream museum showing euro/christian paintings from the last couple of centuries. Very little effort to translate into English.
  • A fine museum worth searching out if you enjoy Renaissance painting and especially the French Romantic period, works you won't see anywhere else. Many fine examples of marble sculpture from the 19th century. Plus a very well-displayed collection of Egyptian artfacts, including rare female sarcophagi.
  • This collection is housed in a lovely chateau. There are some renovations underway. The collection has some Dutch masters, as well as Provencal artists. There is an Egyptian collection on the upper floor. The audio guide provides a fair amount of detailed information about some of the works.
  • A real surprise. A superb restoration for this little gem. See
