  • Pass for the weekend with several friends, we decided to go to the Bailly Lapierre cellars. The site is interesting because of its presence in a former underground quarry, but in the end we are told, for 6 euros per person, that the place was dug by miners early twentieth century for a stone quarry, then mushrooms have been grown locally for a few decades. End of story, you learn not more during the visit. The rest of the visit tells you pictures (and video) that millions of bottles of crémant are produced by robots and that one third of this production is sold abroad. End of visit. We stay hungry. Then tasting two crémants, quite correct. We wanted wines sold on the spot, came with the intention to get, from nearby growers. And there, additional disappointment, the hostess to the non-existent friendliness we simply paid a bottom of a glass (normal for a tasting) for 4 people and we then refused any tasting. Complicated to buy quantities of bottles if you don't taste what they contain. Just understand that Bailly Lapierre cellars have no need to sell to individuals to explain this. Because of this, we recommend go you directly to farmers located a few kilometres around this plant to find professional winemakers and merchants who will explain their craft and the characteristics of their productions. To summarize, the site is nice, but if you are looking for authenticity and human contact, go your way, and go meet the winemakers in the surrounding villages who will open their doors with a smile. We did it and the difference is glaring.

  • Disappointment, is the word that comes to mind immediately. The visit is too focused on the sparkling wine industry and its industrial design, too much on the factory and not enough about its history, its wine, its place! Yet beautiful place, in lovely cellars! Statues, artworks, that we forget and be replaced by placards with pictures of factory! Big disappointment! Not a single word on the statues during the visit. For me the cellar of Bailly has lost his human side, and an industrial story now! .... BIG DISAPPOINTMENT!

  • Great wine, fun tour
  • REALLY to visit! A beautiful taste experience making us visit the cellars with a ton of explanation. ATTENTION: bring a jacket or a good sweater, even in summer, because it is very very cool. The wines are rolling on the floor, very nice quality. We were visited during a stop along our cruise boat. The halt was free to moor overnight. Very well maintained docks, quiet.

  • A cellar really very special, unique of its kind at the Visual level. And it does not hurt, staff friendly, 2 qualities that are not always present together, which deserves to be emphasized. And liqueurs, cream of cassis, wines and sparkling proposed agree me. Ask for more.

  • Entrance, parking and surprising home! (I said no more to let the surprise). Nice visit with a woman familiar with his subject. Tasting at the end 2 crémants and drinks offered. Wide choice of wines. What could be better?

  • Cave de Bailly produces crémant de Bourgogne (sparkling wine), which are of a superior quality. The tasting and sales are located in a cave in which you can go into it with the car. Bailly is located approximately 10-15 km south of Auxerre in the Yonne River. We are already be for the fifth time.
