The medieval castle, Chateau de Pesteils, is perched on a steep rock of altitude of 750 m (2460 ft). Beautiful 15th century frescoes adorn the interior and remarkable paintings from the 17th century decorate the ceiling. Go inside to view the tapestries, paintings by masters, and the furniture from the 17th century. Walk the spiral staircase to the 40 m (130 ft) high dungeon in a rectangular tower with five floors. Stop at the second floor to view wall paintings from the 15th century called the "Four Heroes of Antiquit"y and the "Master and His Pupil." Remarkable gardens surround the fortress, and there is a permanent exhibit of the 1943 cult film "Tristan and Isolde" that was filmed at the castle. This could be correct because of l outside the castle is well entrenu and small gardens too, but when we returned we enjoyed family photos of the former until the person of our time, but if it remains not a moment in every parts the visit very quickly which makes that the entrance is a little expensive. For us little room to visit even though the inside is good interview and represents well the time.

Accompanied by the ghosts of the castle we found different rooms and the history of the middle ages to the present of this very preserved building and with very many historical parts (tables, furniture). The tour ended in the beautiful kitchen of era by a glass of Apple or grape juice: friendly attention of the castle that still live in the Castle and who hold demonstrations of quality (3 or 4 years ago we saw a very successful medieval party. One small gripe we were a bit too many for these nocturnes. The castle is a magnificent building which can be visited all day during the season.

Very nice Castle very well furnished with furniture corresponding to the different periods of the life of the Castle (a part is private and still inhabited by the family). The Park is very beautiful. Will receive you a booklet with the history of each piece. Children can visit the Castle disguised. Costumed events certain days of the week.
Lovely Castle. Explanatory brochures are provided for open houses. The view of the surrounding area is impressive, especially since the Dungeon. Entry a bit expensive, but justified by the quality of the visit.
We did the animated tour of the Wednesday night "Ghosts". A good time with two players having fun and we fun ensuring a serious tour of the Castle. The tour of the Dungeon is impressive at night! And the highlight of the evening, visit the bats!
Beautiful landmark in the region. Magnificent Castle maintained or visit is free or accompanied. Venue for the filming of a famous film with Jean marais. Not to be missed if you are passing in the Cantal.
Much nicer than I thought. The walkway of the guard at the top of the tower is exciting.
Very beautiful castle, in which we can cross the inhabitants. Beautifully furnished and maintained, it's a real journey in time. It is a really special atmosphere. A must see.
