visita di circa UN ORA E MEZZA FINO A 2 ore che consiglio a chi ha buone gambe essendoci 2 rampe di scale antiche da scendere e salire e non c'è altro modo per la visita. il castello di epoca medioeva... more »visit of about an hour and a half up to 2 hours that I recommend to anyone who has good legs as there are 2 sets of stairs ancient to drop off and pick up and there is no other way for the visit. the medieval castle has had many vicissitudes and over the years has been long uninhabited. so it needed so much renovation and the new owners were charged with a major economic effort and call for guided a contribution to the work of both the roof renovation of floors and Windows. inside there are furniture and tapestries, the latter have the advantage of being in combat and in the attic there are 2 tapestries ' theatres (Flanders) and a well preserved Italian physicians ' era with many coats of arms. Unfortunately some fonts are being restored and there are other copies are with big cuts and many patches malfatti. There are beautiful pieces in the rooms as an ivory crucifix and a picture. on the first floor there is a piece of relief of a cabinetmaker inlaid with precious materials that also has the Louvre, his twin. are best preserved the furniture of rugs that are ancient but neglected. the owners are private individuals dealing with rugs, but have no chance to make a lot of renovations there in France a help if not in small part by the State. the castle still appear in the list of goods classified art and it deserves a visit. We were especially for the vision of the ancient tapestries and experts and connoisseurs is a mandatory destination being near Aubusson, home of French tapestry. a special note is the presence of a toilet and a bidet in wood and porcelain from the late 19th century. pity that the bidet is outmoded nowadays French homes and hotels and remains only a museum piece! Another interesting detail is the wooden ceiling entirely pulley for the canopy bed. Finally another hidden gem is the small chapel (another larger was destroyed) unfortunately still to be restored with hidden altar and medieval frescoes that are still just legible. apparently this was also visited by pilgrims on their way to Santiago de Compostela. the place is in the rural countryside and for a period was also an animal farm. on the ground floor there is a large fireplace that is working and there is a room where you can admire a well preserved collection of antique porcelain.
Beautiful castle that the owner was able to maintain and renovate in the rules of the art in order to make a historical monument. The visit has surpassed our expectations, it was made so far under the roof in order to admire the frame which is well worth the € 7 per person and all this accompanied by our dog. What more?
