  • This 'he' is none other than Jean Marie Vianney of course. The Museum is very well done, because it allows to easily understand the motivations of this humanist who has dedicated his life to the poor. So plan to spend some time during your stopover in Ars as worth the effort. The wax statues are a reflection of the time and even children should find an interest.

  • Impressive in the framework and the quality of presentation. Atmosphere very well blended and all is in the eyes of the characters of wax.

  • He is also to visit, in the same way as the Basilica, the House where lived the St Curé, and the surrounding area

  • We visited my husband and I the Historial of the Holy Curé of Ars on 20 August. We were very well greeted by the owner who took his time to evoke us a few anecdotes and explain mainly the history of its Museum, from its creation to its evolution up to now. Created by Grévin wax characters we were blown away and they seemed real. 17 scenes presented themselves to us. It was sufficient for it to follow the meaning of the visit. A few words at the beginning to share our mutual curiosity (my husband and me), then from the 2nd or 3rd stage, silence took place on our way so the Mystic took precedence over the mere superficial curiosity. It is not worth to be devout Christians to visit this museum. The man that was Jean-Marie Vianney, known as the title of the Holy curé of Ars, his life hard, humble and always turned to others, the poor, the "in need": all this was really well explained and we felt inevitably absorbed by its history. A beautiful site which deserves that we make a detour, certainly!
