3.5/5 based on 500+ reviews on the web
The courtyard of the former Arles hospital, now named Espace Van Gogh, is a cultural and academic center for Vincent van Gogh's works, including several masterpieces. Van Gogh was brought to the hospital in 1888 after he cut off his own ear lobe. The two-story hospital features a central French garden. White chalk gallery arcades are reminiscent of Arabic architecture. Put Espace Van Gogh on your schedule, and learn what else deserves a visit by using our Arles tour planner.

  • I felt very excited admiring this beautiful Museum of my favorite artist... I love Van Gogh.y was all the time with the emotion to the surface, thinking in this space, the misunderstood that was in your life so short... I have no words...

  • It is only a small space. Hard to imagine Van Gogh being here and painting in the garden. But it is quite pretty and the streets around it are very picturesque.
  • After some searching, we have found it, we wouldn't have found it, would have been no loss, but you know that until afterwards.
