Garoupe Lighthouse (Phare de la Garoupe), Antibes
(4.3/5 based on 320+ reviews on the web)
Hike or drive to Garoupe Lighthouse (Phare de la Garoupe), the old lighthouse of Antibes, for panoramic views of the French Riviera and beyond. The lighthouse itself is not open to visitors, but pack a picnic or grab an ice cream from the vendor on top of the hill and admire the view of the ocean. Visit the small chapel located next to the lighthouse with colorful offerings placed there by local seamen. The hike up is strenuous and involves many stairs; bring water and note that it can get very hot. Garoupe Lighthouse (Phare de la Garoupe) is just one of the many highlights you can arrange to see using our custom trip planner, Antibes Edition.

  • As with everything in this wonderful area of Antibes, it pays to try to get to it if you can, even though the old town harbour and the beach are such an attractive wallowing places .
  • On top of the promontory of "billionaires" Antibes lies this old lighthouse, still working but not open to the public. The area with annexed church dating from the year 1000 offers a view not to be missed.
