Fort Carre is also known as Fort Carré d'Antibes. It was named the squared foot in the 16th-century when Henri de Mandon (Henry III) added four arrowhead shaped bastions to a tower called la tour Saint-Florent. In the 17th century, the Marquis de Vauban fortified the fort by adding traverses and outer walls, enlarging the embrasures and exchanging the stone parapets for brick parapets. Fort Carre is also well known for housing (imprisoning) Napoleon Bonaparte for 10 days and the villain's fortress in the James Bond film, Never Say Never Again. • Amazing and interesting place, take it vntmanie when visiting Antibes. It is possible to reach on foot or with art. BIOT or art of Antibes. The Fort is open for guided tours and visits strictly under the schedule. In this excursion it is possible even for small groups in 3 person. Tour hold in French, but the visitors issue sheets with translation into Russian, English languages.

  • A little-known site of the Interior but who ask really be visited. Although it is visible from far away and all, a stop in this place is a must because the panorama is grandiose. A must-see for lovers of beautiful photos, preferably a day of mistral as 360 ° view offers a unique view of the massif of Mercantour, the Baie des anges, Port Vauban and the old Antibes.

  • Goryokaku in Japan far away white mountain in the European Alps appearance before one's eyes is from the antive yacht old town within walking distance. Yachts are anchored from the antive station to walk. It is recommended this for care in East right next to beach of shingle beach. Guests can enjoy a flavor different from the sandy beach in the old town.

  • I took a rambling walk around the entire fort and along the sea. It was spectacular. After a bit of a hike I decided to go to the fort and took the tour which was only a few euros. Our tour guide spoke excellent English, despite her stating otherwise. There were only 2 other people on the tour and the guide explained everything very well. Shared lots of history and stories about the fort and the area. After enjoying the tour I hit the beach for a swim and then headed back to Nice via train. An awesome low key day trip, highly recommend!
  • Amazing place. You can see everything from here.
  • If you have time to kill in Antibes, the Fort is worth a visit. Guided Tour only, the guide speaks only French.
  • Great panoramic view of the port and the city of Antibes, includes a protected green area. Nice promenade along the beach.
  • Well worth a visit, very impressive fort
