Chateau d'Ansouis, Ansouis
(3.8/5 based on 70+ reviews on the web)
Going back to the birth of Jesus Christ, Chateau d'Ansouis has been in existence for over 2,000 years. It was initially a fortress in the Aigues Valley. The architecture of the castle has soft features. It is surrounded by lush green gardens, terraces and groves. This magnificent castle in the region of Luberon has been renovated to meet the needs of the public. Inside is a well-designed staircase, a series of elegant furniture rooms. It gives the feeling of walking amidst medival era and the Old Regime. The seventeenth century welcomed the new residents of the castle, post all religious and political wars. The Escalis were succeeded by Villeuneuve Ansouis a Aix in 18th century. That is how the castle derives its aristocratic lifestyle. • Guided tour conducted by the owner that is very rewarding. Castle and its gardens are very well maintained.

  • This magnificent castle can be visited with the owners for guide. They are lovers of old stones that make us discover this unusual place.

  • Must visit one of the jewels of provence in the same way as La Barben and La Verdière. We remain dazzled and enchanted after this visit. Congratulations to new owners who were able to restore a chandelier and a soul to this ancestral remains.
